Archiving (Digital Preservation) Policy

In order to ensure the wide dissemination of research outputs through open access and to guarantee their long-term availability, Publicus adopts the following archiving policy:

Publisher: Public Administration Association

Journal Title: Publicus – Journal of Public Administration Research

E-ISSN: 3023-8463

General Principle: All articles published in Publicus are open access and are distributed under the Creative Commons CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 license. Under this license:

  • Content is freely accessible, downloadable, and shareable.
  • Proper attribution is required.
  • Commercial use is prohibited.
  • No modifications to the content are permitted.

Digital Preservation and Long-Term Archiving: To ensure the long-term digital preservation of its published content, Publicus utilizes the PKP PLN (Public Knowledge Project Preservation Network). PKP PLN operates on the infrastructure of the LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) program, enabling secure archiving of journal content within a decentralized and distributed library system. Through this system, even in the event of technical disruptions on the journal’s web platform, all published articles are safeguarded for permanent preservation and continued accessibility.

In addition, all content continues to be made available in open access through the journal’s official website, and articles are permanently identified via DOI numbers. The publisher undertakes to regularly review and maintain the technical infrastructure to ensure the sustainable preservation and accessibility of digital content.

Author Self-Archiving and Published Version (Publisher PDF): Authors may archive and share the final published version of their articles (publisher PDF) on their personal websites, institutional repositories, and academic sharing platforms without any embargo period. During such sharing:

  • Proper attribution to the journal must be provided, and a link to the published version of the article via its DOI must be included.
  • The terms of the CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 license must be respected, and no modifications may be made to the content.

Embargo: None

Archiving Locations: PKP PLN (LOCKSS), Journal Official Website, Institutional Repositories, Author’s Personal Website.
