Generative AI Usage Policy
This policy has been prepared based on the “Guide for the Responsible and Reliable Use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GAI) in Support Processes” published by TÜBİTAK in 2026. Our journal regulates the principles and obligations separately and explicitly for authors, reviewers, and journal boards regarding the use of generative AI tools.
- GAI Usage for Authors
Authors are obliged to approve the GAI Usage Declaration Form during the article submission stage. Authors accept and undertake the following:
- The author is entirely responsible for the accuracy and scientific validity of all information, data, analysis, claims, and references presented in the study. GAI use does not transfer or diminish this responsibility.
- If GAI was used in any part of the article, the name and version of the tool used must be explicitly declared.
- GAI may have been used in areas such as literature research and summarization, language and style improvement, bibliography formatting, coding assistance, idea development, data visualization suggestions, draft text creation, data analysis, and visual material production. This use must be clearly reported.
- The study must reflect the author’s original intellectual production. GAI tools cannot be used for plagiarism, fabrication of data, or distortion.
- Confidential information that is not public, unpublished research data, and personal data within the scope of Law on the Protection of Personal Data (KVKK) cannot be uploaded to GAI tools.
- All outputs generated by GAI (including references) must be checked and verified against reliable primary sources.
- GAI Usage for Reviewers
Reviewers are obliged to approve the Confidentiality and Ethics Commitment for Reviewers when accepting the evaluation invitation. Reviewers accept and undertake the following:
- GAI tools cannot be used for any purpose during the evaluation process, including analyzing, summarizing the article, or creating a draft reviewer report.
- Unpublished original ideas, methodologies, and personal data in the article cannot be entered/uploaded into GAI tools.
- Transferring article information to GAI tools may pose a risk of KVKK violation and infringement of intellectual/industrial property rights.
- Reviewer evaluation is based solely on the reviewer’s own expert judgment and critical reasoning.
- Journal Boards
Members of the editorial board and the publishing board do not use generative AI tools at any stage of the evaluation and decision-making processes. Editorial evaluation processes are conducted entirely based on human expertise.
